In the war-torn country of Shougetsu, strength determines who rules—and perfection belongs only to those willing to sacrifice everything to reach it. Takezō was born with status, but without talent, or a legendary blade. Armed with little more than a wooden sword and an inhuman refusal to remain weak, he dedicates his life to mastering the path of combat. He seeks no throne, carries no heroic ideals, and has no desire to save the country from itself. He wants only to become something no warrior has ever achieved: perfect. While powerful clans tear Shougetsu apart and the Kagemori Shogunate wages war to unify it, Takezō travels directly into the bloodshed. He challenges monsters disguised as men, warriors capable of destroying armies, and legends whose strength has shaped entire provinces. Every battle pushes his body beyond what should be human—and transforms him into something increasingly difficult to call human at all. To the warriors watching him pursue an impossible ideal, Takezō is reckless, deluded, and doomed. They call him the Fool. But as his wooden sword begins to split stone, silence battlefields, and humble the strongest warriors alive, Shougetsu will learn that a fool who never accepts defeat may be more terrifying than any hero.
