When a fractured Realm balances on the precipice of civil war, priestess Elena discovers that her presumed-dead husband has been resurrected as a mindless "Changed" soldier. Branded a fugitive after uncovering a deep political conspiracy and Maester Karok’s secret Blood Mage network, Elena joins an unlikely band of outcasts, thieves, and secret princes. As an ancient and monstrous army of Farlings awaken from afar, humanity and dwarves must unite in a desperate, earth-shattering struggle that will ultimately challenge the very nature of life, soul, and sacrifice.
