A stolen chicken. A blow to the head. A second life with very poor prospects. Karl wakes in Faerûn as a ten-year-old farmer’s son. His family has no wealth, no influence, and no surname. In a land of gods, monsters, and magic, surviving an ordinary life is already ambitious enough. There is no system waiting to welcome him. No status screen. No convenient starting reward. But the adventurer who nearly killed him left behind something that should not exist in this world: a handwritten Chinese manual. The Twelve Mountain-Subduing Arts contains instructions for cultivating gu, crafting talismans, healing the sick, and tempering the body. Whether those methods can work in Faerûn is a question Karl intends to answer—starting with whatever a poor farming household can spare. Putting food on the table comes first. Growing strong enough to protect it comes next. From village survival to battles, magic, and the demands of governing land, Karl must find a place for his strange inheritance in a world that already belongs to powerful gods and far more dangerous people. A slow-burn progression fantasy blending Eastern cultivation, practical problem-solving, and settlement building in a sword-and-sorcery world.
