The tap in the guest bathroom dripped a note close to a D, and for three nights he lay awake matching it by ear instead of fixing it. On the fourth night it stopped, and he slept like a man who had won something. In the morning the sink was dry, not the dry of a fixed tap but the dry of a sink that has never held water, and the guest room door was locked from the inside. He does not own that key.A short horror story. Complete in one chapter.
