Ebony Isekai never asked to become a hero. Thrown into the mysterious Field of Reeds alongside Nagato, he finds a world of kingdoms, monsters, magic, and ancient secrets — a world where suffering itself can become poison. But Ebony is not like the warriors of this realm. He does not seek battle. He does not chase power. He waits. Armed with a strange staff, defensive magic, and a philosophy built around the stillness of water, Ebony begins carving out a path of his own. But when the rules of this new world separate him from Nagato, he is forced to continue without the person who entered it beside him. From the blocked roads of Dulwich to encounters with Blood Rats, Red Boy, and creatures capable of bringing entire kingdoms to their knees, Ebony is slowly pulled into conflicts far greater than himself. And somewhere beneath it all, something is changing. The reeds are growing. The kingdoms are watching. And Ebony is beginning to understand that surviving the Field of Reeds may not be about becoming the strongest person in it. It may be about learning when not to fight.
