Varen Deyne was born with three mana. In Valeria, where a child's Core can decide their entire future, that makes him a failure before his life has even begun. At seventeen, Varen enters Avarion Academy for one reason: a sealed instruction left by his late mother, Elara Deyne. Go. No matter what they tell you about your Core. Then an Abyssal Knight breaches the entrance examination—and comes straight for him. For eleven years, Varen's Core has been classified as a useless F-rank. It isn't. Something has been hidden beneath it. The Endless Core can consume mana, abilities, traits—and, as Varen soon discovers, far more than any human Core should be capable of touching. The last known person to wield it was Vaelor Noctis, a Devourer feared across Valeria before he vanished seven hundred years ago. Now Varen has to survive an academy full of people stronger than him, hide a power that should not exist, uncover what his mother sacrificed to conceal it, and decide what kind of person he intends to become as the Endless Core continues to evolve. Because consuming power is easy. Living with what remains afterward may not be. Varen enters Avarion as its weakest student. The Endless Core has no intention of keeping him there.
