They made Marq watch his family die before taking his head. Three days later, he wakes beneath a mound of burned corpses. His heart is silent. His body is cold. His head is missing. According to the System, Marq is already dead—and whatever dragged him back has erased twenty-four Levels of hard-earned progression. But it didn’t erase his training. Armed with a scavenged halberd, a few degraded Skills, and a supernatural awareness that reaches in every direction, Marq begins hunting the soldier who carried away his head as a trophy. Recovering it should restore his memories and reveal why his wife, children, and grandfather were condemned. Instead, it exposes something far worse. The order to erase Marq’s bloodline came from powers reaching beyond the soldiers of Roth. His broken resurrection has violated ancient laws of death, drawing the attention of black-magic witches, divine authorities, and things lurking beneath the world’s graves. Every battle strengthens him, but every Hex he develops carries a price—and being dead does not mean he cannot suffer. To reach the commander responsible for the massacre, Marq must relearn his body, master his halberd, survive dungeons that do not care about his Level, and bargain with creatures that obey the letter of every agreement. Revenge will require more than rage. It will require patience, preparation, and enough power to tear a kingdom apart. They killed Marq last. That was their first mistake. WHAT READERS SHOULD EXPECT  -Most chapters land near 2,200 words, expanding for major battles and tightening when a scene should hit fast. -Marq begins at Level 1, but he fights with the hard-earned instincts of the veteran he was before Roth executed him. -Progression built through dangerous opponents, experimentation, dungeons, equipment, Hex evolution, and occult bargains—not convenient rewards or endless notifications. -Grounded halberd combat where distance, footing, armor, leverage, and injuries genuinely determine who survives. -A protagonist who is cold, methodical, profane, and morally dangerous without becoming a mindless murder machine. -An undead body with real advantages and horrifying limitations. Marq needs no air or food, but damaged limbs do not magically grow back, and death is no longer the worst possible outcome. -A personal hunt for his family’s killers that gradually uncovers an imperial conspiracy involving ancient death-law, stolen souls, churches, demons, and forgotten powers. -Allies who possess their own ambitions and loyalties. Trust develops slowly, and caring about someone never guarantees they will remain at Marq’s side. -Dark fantasy violence, grave magic, criminal dealings, brothels, political cruelty, and dry humor—with no harem and no early romance hijacking the revenge plot. -Marq will become terrifying, but never cheaply. Stronger enemies can crush him, and surviving them is not the same thing as winning.
