Does everyone deserve a second chance? Kris Dremure was once an ordinary human who lost everything while trying to protect the people he loved. After being defeated by an overwhelming enemy, Kris makes one final desperate prayer to the ancient being known as Azathoth. His prayer is answered. But not in the way he expected. Kris awakens in a mysterious parallel world, carrying a strange mark over his heart and a power he doesn't understand. The world he has entered is unlike anything he has ever known, and the creatures living within it seem to know something about the mark he carries. Bound by a mysterious agreement with Azathoth, Kris is given only one command: Go north. As he begins his journey, Kris soon realizes that he is not the only one hiding a secret. Something exists behind the mark within his chest, something powerful enough to frighten even the monsters of this new world. Kris came here believing he had been given a second chance. But perhaps this world was never meant to give him one. Perhaps it was waiting for him.
