In 2142, Sorgaregn is a rain-soaked coastal city where centuries-old stone and advanced technology exist side by side. Ingrid Beaumont's job is to keep the city's systems running. When they begin behaving in ways that defy explanation, she assumes at first that it's just a technical malfunction. Then she meets Kaitlin, a nurse whose workplace is experiencing impossible glitches. As the two women grow closer, they begin to investigate what is happening to the city's systems. But what starts as a technological mystery soon takes a darker turn. Records become distorted. Reality begins to crack. And the consequences begin to show in blood and death.
