An orphaned boy, duped and dragged across the mainland, is dumped in a dirty, smelly market alley. He wakes with a strange mark injected into his thigh, in an unfamiliar city, alone and starving. He learns to fight. He learns to disguise himself. He learns how to read people, make friends, trust his elders and teachers, and stand on his own feet. Every lesson changes him. Every journey takes him a little further from the frightened boy he used to be. As he grows into a man and becomes stronger, pieces of the life he cannot remember begin to surface—fragments of a past he may not be ready to understand. Behind the Bright Walls is the story of a boy growing into a man through training, hardship, friendship, loss, and the long journey toward making peace with himself and where he came from.What to Expect- 3 chapters a week: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday- Around 2,000 words per chapter, with some chapters running longer.
