Memory: Limbus

Memory: Limbus

MEMORY Aeternis promises the impossible: they will remove the memory that is destroying you. Forget the pain. Become pure. Five years after losing his wife and son, John Mercer signs the consent form himself. The operation works. For eleven days. Then the memories come back — sharper, heavier, and no longer only his own. He wakes from other people's deaths. He grieves for children he has never seen. And he is not the only one. Scattered across the city are others like him: a bartender, a teenage girl, a soldier who cannot stop fighting a war that ended years ago. The corporation calls them a side effect. Internally it calls them root carriers — and it wants them silenced. The man sent to do it has no name in any file. He wears gloves. He is never in a hurry. He has never once failed. What the survivors uncover is not a malfunction. Aeternis was never deleting anything. Human memory cannot be stored on a server — it decays, loses context, forgets whose it was. It needs a living brain. So the corporation built one out of hundreds of them: bodies in cryogenic capsules, wired into a single network, each one holding a fragment of somebody else's worst day, forced to relive it every seven seconds so the structure will not break down. They call it Limbus. To destroy it, someone has to take a third of it into his own head. He will not survive as himself. The system has already recognized him: compatibility 94.7 percent — because part of him is already down there, waiting. MEMORY is a corporate thriller about the last thing anyone can steal from you, and about the people who discover that the truth, once released, is not the end of anything. It is simply the next thing to be managed.

Mid-pack, room on both levers

Traffic and conversion both sit mid-field for a story this size. Growth here compounds from consistency: steady cadence feeds traffic, and a sharper hook lifts what each view is worth.
