"You didn't ask me here for the drive," she says. "You asked me here because you wanted to see me. The drive is an excuse. You've been using the drive as an excuse for twelve days, and I've been letting you, because I wanted to see you too." The drive holds everything Bruce needs to take down Anton Voss — the man who killed a Gotham PD detective, the man who's building something out past the Narrows, the man who's put three million dollars on Selina Kyle's head. It's been in her possession for twelve days. He hasn't asked for it. She hasn't offered. Instead, there's a table for two at the top of a converted church tower in Old Gotham. Nine courses. A candle burning low. Rain against the windows. She's wearing a dress she bought three weeks ago. He ordered in advance and arrived twenty minutes early. Between the oysters and the chocolate, two people who have spent nine years circling each other finally sit still long enough to have the conversation they've been avoiding — about the city, about the past, about a stolen drive, and about the fact that she's leaving Gotham on Sunday. Some dinners are just dinners. This one isn't.
