by Z blade
Kento and Ren have spent their whole lives training side by side — disciplined, close, inseparable. Then one evening, walking home from the dojo like they have a thousand times before, they take a single step and the world stops being theirs. The streets they know vanish. In their place: a city torn open, streets cracked like dry bone, buildings gutted and black beneath a sky with no moon. And in the dark — things that shouldn't exist, watching with eyes like burning coals, hunting on legs that bend the wrong way. They run. They survive. But not together. And when the sun rises the next morning, they're back in their beds, back in their ordinary lives — except only one of them remembers any of it happened. Something followed them home. Or maybe it never let them go at all.
