Raphael Reed grew up in a broken home, raised by a father whose cruelty taught him one lesson from an early age: the strong will always trample the weak. For years, Raphael endured the life he never deserved, until one night, pushed beyond his limits, he killed his father in an act of self-defense. But surviving came at a price. Something inside Raphael went silent. His emotions began to fade, replaced by a cold detachment that made it difficult for him to fear, love, or even feel guilt the way he once did. The words his father had left behind continued to echo in his mind, shaping the way he saw the world. If the strong prey upon the weak, then Raphael would become stronger than them all. Now, he walks through a world he no longer sees as ordinary. To Raphael, humanity is a hierarchy of predators and prey ,and he intends to hunt the predators. But every hunt pulls him deeper into a darkness he may never escape. He was once the prey. Now, he has become the predator.
