Solvyn wants nothing more than to become a Riftwalker—the legendary heroes who venture into the Rift, blessed with special powers from the World Tree to keep humanity safe. There’s just one problem: Sol has nothing to his name. How does a child from the slums of Paurith compete with those who have been raised from birth to conquer the Rift? But Sol refuses to accept that his birth determines how far he can go. If society has no place for him, then he’ll claw his way to the top and make one for himself. And if he has to turn the world on its head in the process, then so be it.
