“When the world is in peril and on the brink of ruin, three rulers from the past shall be reborn among your descendants, bearing the weapons of the gods to unite the continent and vanquish the threat looming over the world.” This was the prophecy delivered to the three founders of the faiths worshipping the three gods. For a thousand years following the War of the Three Kingdoms, which had successfully sealed the gates of hell and imprisoned the northern enemy, the gods had refrained from interfering in human affairs, waiting for the appointed time. Yet, the prophecy was known to nearly all the empire's citizens, as it had become a central tenet of their religious teachings.Amidst the chaos and warfare between lords vying to seize control of the world’s sole, vast empire, triplets bearing the divine birthmarks of the gods were born into the household of one such lord. After their parents were slain in an attack by rival lords, the three managed to escape to the southern continent, a desolate, forsaken land. They lived there, and being the reincarnations of ancient rulers, they had no desire to meddle in worldly affairs or even seek vengeance for their parents' deaths. That changed when a saint arrived bearing a newly received prophecy: the northern barrier, which held the darkness at bay, had shattered, and the encroaching darkness threatened to annihilate the world. Knowing the terrifying nature of the darkness that had once threatened the world a millennium ago  and seeing that the bickering lords dismissed the rising darkness as mere myth and remained woefully unprepared, the triplets finally resolved to amass power, seize the empire, unite humanity, and confront the darkness together. They were aided by the gods, who had chosen ten champions to act as their representative and assist the triplets in their cause.
