Vitalik is thirty, a carpenter, and can't seem to hold onto a fiancée — or a paycheck. Then a poster on the bar wall promises salvation: a fishing fleet needs real men for a six-month voyage, good money, no questions asked. One careless boast to an old friend over a beer, and suddenly the whole family, the neighbors, and his newly-returned fiancée are throwing him a send-off party. Too late to back out now — a man's word is a man's word. A satire about how it's sometimes easier to invent yourself as a real man than to actually become one.
