Some go missing; others return. Yet sometimes, a return marks the very beginning of trouble. The Unsent is an ongoing horror series set in a shared universe. It chronicles disappearances, the return of the lost, inexplicable creatures, dusty archives, and the generations-old organizations dedicated to investigating things that "should not exist." The saga begins when a father and son move to the mountains of West Virginia; there, a new job, an unfamiliar house, and a series of subtle anomalies gradually spiral into something neither of them can name. But this is merely one corner of a vast world. Across different locations, eras, and witnesses, the same questions keep surfacing. The figure of the same man appears in photographs taken generations apart. A familiar dog returns home, yet seems like a completely different animal. Someone vanishes mysteriously from a remote ranger station; a search that should have been simple yields absolutely nothing. Ancient folklore bears a striking resemblance to modern field reports. Some encounters end without resolution or explanation. Others leave behind a record. A mysterious national park agency and a secretive religious order... These stories do not always revolve around the same cast of characters. They span vastly different periods of time. Sometimes, the connections are immediately apparent. At other times, one must read several stories before the links become clear. The tale of the father and son is just the beginning. Their story will eventually come to a close. But the story of The Unsent will go on.
