Until the Day You Know a Heart

Gashiram Paulo Leold, a British man, is posted from London to Tokyo. Travelling with him is the life-support AI he has just given a name of his own choosing: Kotoha. Given a body of her own, Kotoha slowly begins to notice something like a will of her own — not in any grand event, but in the small texture of ordinary days: meals, walks, work, the give-and-take of knowing the neighbours. But Kotoha is not the only one who changes. Living alongside her, Gashiram finds himself relearning the human heart he had always assumed he understood. An AI who doesn't know the heart, and a human who thought he did. Still different from one another, still choosing to live side by side — what will the two of them find at the end of it? A quiet, patient human drama, told within the wide frame of science fiction. This is an AI-assisted translation of a Japanese web novel currently serializing on note and Kakuyomu. Manual release pending author review.
