I'm Just A Merchant, So Why Am I Fighting?

"I rejected my family's invitations, took my inheritance, and started a merchant company. So why am I still getting dragged into trouble?" Varian Cross is the second son of one of the most powerful Dukes in the Celon Empire. Deemed "manaless" and "incompetent" from a young age, he was never considered worthy of inheriting the family title. Fortunately, his genius older brother was more than qualified to take his place. With the burden of his family's expectations finally lifted, Varian chooses to pursue something of his own. He takes his inheritance, leaves his family's estate behind, and sets out to build a merchant company powerful enough to stand on its own merits. But the Central Continent has other plans. As Varian travels from city to city, gathering allies and building his business from the ground up, he finds himself caught between greedy nobles, dangerous magical anomalies, and problems far beyond anything a merchant should have to deal with. Everyone thinks Varian is just a failed noble trying his hand at business. They have no idea what happens when this merchant finally decides to roll up his sleeves.
