Dying of brain cancer wasn't exactly the ending Dong Jun expected—so waking up in a world of magic should've felt like a second chance at an extraordinary life. Except nothing about it turned out the way he imagined. Reborn as a mage, he gets stuck at Rank D—the lowest rung on the ladder at East Palace's magic hierarchy. No cheat powers. No overpowered bloodline. And unlike every other reincarnation hero out there, he doesn't even get a System to carry him through. What he gets instead is a mentor who happens to be his own Author. Beneath East Palace's peaceful facade lies a web of secrets, and Dong Jun—Rank D mage, broke, unlucky, and now stuck with a lazy know-it-all voice in his head—has to survive one dangerous mission after another just to stay alive. "Author. Give me an item. Now." [Quiet. I'm on break.] "DO YOU NOT SEE ME ABOUT TO DIE RIGHT HERE?!" [Tch. You're always bothering me. Figure it out yourself.] "DAMN YOU! I ACTUALLY HATE YOU!" [Relax, you're not going to die. If you die, my readers will come after me.]
