After getting rejected by the most popular girl in school, Richard Oshay decided the obvious next step was cosmetic surgery. He counted backward from ten, closed his eyes, and let the anesthesia take him. He was supposed to wake up with a better face. Instead, he woke up in another world with no face at all. Now he's in the Eternal Spire, a colossal tower of ninety-one floors inhabited by billions of people, with entire cities spread across floors so enormous that most people never leave the one they were born on. But Rick isn't exploring. He's currently wrapped in bandages and surrounded by priests who insist he's the hero they've been waiting three hundred years for.
