Nivie Reyes has one job this semester: keep her GPA high enough to keep her scholarship. A C minus on her Economics midterm was not part of the plan. Neither was getting paired with Ven Ashcombe, the guy who never studies and still tops every test. The professor picks Ven to tutor her for the rest of the term. Twice a week, in a small library room, they sit across from each other with a calculator and a textbook and not much to say. But somewhere between practice problems and small talk, tutoring starts turning into something else. Nivie starts learning things that have nothing to do with economics. This is a story about failing a class, learning to ask for help, and maybe falling for the one person you didn't want to need.
