The Rekindled Flame

Continuation to the events of The Traveler of Black Flame The Velisar Empire has entered an age of unprecedented peace and prosperity. At its center sits Emperor Sebastian Solrend, the younger brother of the infamous Kaen Solrend. Unlike his brother, Sebastian has no desire for conquest or glory. A Solrend bearing the aspect of Sloth, he rules through efficiency rather than ambition, building a system that allows the vast empire to flourish with as little of his personal involvement as possible. The people of Velisar prosper. Its cities expand, its shipyards flourish, wyverns fill the skies, and civilization enters an era unlike anything the empire has known before. But peace has a way of making people forget how fragile it truly is. While Sebastian governs from the capital of Lucius, his older brother remains secluded in Castle Silvanis, far removed from the empire he once ruled. The wounds of the past, and the loss of those closest to him, have left Kaen a very different man from the tyrant remembered by history. For Sebastian, the empire is everything he has been entrusted to protect. It is his duty to discover whether the peaceful world he built can survive the forces gathering beyond its borders, and whether the blood flowing through his veins is truly a gift, or a curse waiting to be unleashed.
