In a modern world where everyone awakens a class at eighteen, Xander Mercer expects to follow his family's long tradition of powerful martial Awakened. Instead, his awakening transforms him into a towering Mountain Titan and grants him the unusual Bonded Bastion class—a power built not around destroying enemies, but protecting the people who matter to him. Alongside his lifelong best friend, the newly awakened Oni Spellblade Reina Zhao, Xander begins climbing from F-grade while discovering that his strength grows through genuine relationships called Hearth Bonds. As new allies enter their lives and monster threats grow more dangerous, Xander sets out to build something stronger than any individual warrior: A Hearth worth protecting. And if anything wants to threaten it? Comes through him.
