A prince who dreams of becoming a knight. A street-born outsider with no patience for nobility. And an adventure neither of them is remotely prepared for. In a world shaped by magic, where dragons still soar above ancient kingdoms and Aether flows through everyday life, Prince Charles has spent his youth dreaming of heroic knights, legendary swords, and adventures beyond the safety of the castle walls. At his side is Remi—his childhood friend, constant sparring partner, and cynical counterweight to nearly every heroic idea Charles has. But when an assassin strikes at the heart of the royal family and leaves the king dying from a mysterious poison, childhood games suddenly become very real. With time running out, Charles and his companions are forced beyond the kingdom they've always known in search of a cure. What begins as a desperate journey soon draws them into a much larger conflict—one of warring kingdoms, ancient magic, monsters, demons, and secrets buried long before any of them were born. Along the way, friendships will be tested, romances will bloom, enemies will emerge, and the children who once played at being heroes will discover what becoming one actually costs. Because this isn't the story of one knight. It's their crusade.
