Bertrand Arramor is an anomaly. Raised in a thieves’ guild, Tartus, he is the only known Elven assassin in the world. His natural abilities give him a substantial edge, and he matured into the lifestyle of the criminal underbelly. While he climbed in infamy throughout the world, he was haunted by memories of his youth. Within his dreams, Bertrand was faced with a figure with more questions than answers, always judging.  That was until a contract landed in his lap that would change everything. To complete it would send his entire world, Tartus, and the brotherhood of trained killers throughout the world into complete disarray. Horrified at his choice, Bertrand must decide between duty and curiosity for the truth, a decision that will alter the course of history. After nearly two centuries among the thieves and assassins of Tartus, the only family he has ever truly known, Bertrand finds himself at a crossroad. After years of accepting its rules without question, something within the Elven assassin has begun to shift. Haunted by memories of the man who raised him and increasingly troubled by the life he has chosen, Bertrand now finds himself caught between loyalty to his guild, his friendship with the unpredictable Seath, and a growing sense that the world, and perhaps Bertrand himself, is beginning to change.
