The Game — Short Synopsis Seventeen-year-old Scylus Payne is grieving the recent deaths of his parents when humanity receives an impossible announcement: the gods have judged mankind unworthy of the Earth. Half of humanity will have their souls transported into the Game, a deadly journey through one hundred worlds. The remaining half must care for the players’ helpless bodies on Earth. Death in either world means death in both, and if the players fail to clear all one hundred worlds, humanity will be destroyed. Scylus is chosen as a player just as he is struck by a truck and nearly killed. The accident causes his transfer to malfunction, sending him through a mysterious chamber before dropping him into the First World without a normal class, weapons, equipment, or tutorial. What seems like a disadvantage soon becomes Scylus’s greatest strength. Because the Game failed to assign him one of its fifty classes, he can potentially learn skills and use equipment from every class, effectively becoming the hidden Master of None.
