The Lost Scions

Fifteen-year-old Sayeh Kushun is a member of the elite Sisters of Khoda, protectors of the royal female line of the Vos, an empire that once spanned the Inner Seas but succumbed to something known only as the Disaster. With only vague memories of home, Sayeh lives in the city of Crossroads in the Riverlands Commonwealth, where many of the Vosian refugees have settled. While escorting the daughter of the ambassador of the Vos-in-Exile, Sayeh foils an assassination attempt and discovers that someone is targeting young Vosian women across the city. Bitter and angry at the way her people have been treated, Sayeh is plagued by nightmares until she meets a young man named Jaiman Varachuk. Fifteen-year-old Jaiman is not a monster, he is the son of one. An Initiate of the elite Weaponmasters, he is also a Saloi'i. Descended from genetically engineered super soldiers that helped liberate the people of the world from the dreaded Aether Kings generations earlier, Jaiman bears his heritage as a burden, hiding it every chance he gets.  Jaiman and his Weaponmaster mates are assigned to escort the ambassador's daughter to a safer location. During the journey, an ambush seperates Jaiman and Sayeh from the rest of the escort party.  They work together to survive the wild lands of the Ramble, while discovering deep feelings for one another. Along the way, they discover a dark plot that will plunge the world into a war that only they can stop by revealing their secrets.
