Life in Feyhaven is a breeze for Dekkeon. Mischievous, charismatic, and proudly crowned “The Lazy King” by the local villagers, he spends his summers escaping his father’s tailor shop to hang out with the BloodRight orphans in the icy peaks of their mountain home, mocking the grueling military regimen their father enforces. Carefree days shatter when the Witch in White arrives, leaving blood and ashes in her wake. Bound by a reckless oath sworn hand-in-hand at the Tree of Life and Death, the spirits of Dekkeon’s childhood companions now linger by his side—bitter reminders of his failure and spectral guides to his survival. Consumed by revenge, cursed by a tree’s promise, and with his friends’ specters watching his every move, the boy who once strove to do nothing must become the antithesis of everything he once was.
