Three days after dying in a car accident, a man wakes up in a hospital bed—inside the body of the stranger who caused the crash. Everyone around him believes he’s the other man: the one whose choices shattered lives. But he remembers everything—his wife, his child, the moment of impact, and the sickening realization that the person he now appears to be is the reason his family is grieving. Forced to live as the man who destroyed his world, he watches his family from a distance, unable to tell them who he really is. Every attempt to help risks reopening their wounds or making things worse. Every step he takes as this new person raises the question: Why am I here? As he struggles with guilt, identity, and the weight of a second chance wrapped in the wrong skin, he must decide whether to approach the people he loves—or stay in the shadows and carry the burden alone. My Burdened Soul is an emotional novel about grief, reincarnation, and what it means to live with a face that carries someone else’s sins.
