Being the Guildmaster of a top five guild in the greatest empire in Solance mostly means one thing: cleaning up after your own chaos before the Senate finds out. Crockett, goblin, time mage, and professional avoider of consequences, has gotten very good at that particular skill. He has had three hundred years of practice. His misfit crew are used to it by now. It is practically the job description. An ex clown sorceress who is far more dangerous than she looks. A biomancer with questionable ethics and a worse filter. A spy who says too little. A warrior princess who says far too much. Mirrorbloom is a flat world split down the middle like a pane of glass. Solance above, bright and ambitious and full of magic. Umbrasol below, its reflection, where everything good up here feeds something far worse down there. Everyone born here has a mirror self on the other side, and nobody is supposed to ask what that costs. Their newest expedition is chasing an artifact rumored to explain why the world is shaped this way at all. What they dig up instead drags four of them somewhere no amount of charm can talk them out of. Umbrasol does not care how funny you are. Some mirrors are better left uncracked.
