Christopher's Regret

A story of a legendary hero, now on his deathbed, looking back on his life, the life changing moment where his world was shattered and he tread down the path of a hero, marked by sacrifice, glory and loneliness. With a regret, that follows him throughout his life. This is a short story I submitted for a international competition after qualifying through the national level. I didn't win either, only got an honorable mention for the former and didn't even get shortlisted for the latter. But, I felt bad having this just collect dust on my computer so why not post it here. I'm not a very good writer, I didn't deserve anything from the competition, but I thought why not give it a try. If I have the motivation, I'll probably flesh this out more or write something else since I do like writing.
