Honor To What End

Staff Sergeant Outis enters a familiar forest during a training exercise and emerges somewhere impossible. Stranded in an older Japan with no clear way home, he is taken in by a warrior named Sakai and his wife, Tomoe. What begins as survival slowly becomes friendship, routine, and an unexpected sense of belonging. But Outis and Sakai come from very different worlds, and they don't agree on what a warrior owes to duty, honor, or himself. Honor to What End is a short story about friendship, displacement, and the cost of living by a code.
