Five Minutes follows the true story of William Null who enacts revenge upon Bunk Stagner, a man charged and found guilty of the murder of his father, Constable Charles Null and cattle rustling in Smithville, 1890. The story begins with a flash forward of William enacting his revenge, then back to the day prior, Constable Null had informed his son he was off at first light to get a warrant to search Bunk Stagner’s property at Primm Lake to prove allegations of Stagner’s cattle rustling. William recalls in his flash back the day his father’s horse is returned to him, and he witnesses his father’s remains. A month passes and Bunk Stagner remains free. Taking matters into his own hands, Will gathers evidence and a posse consisting of his cousin George Null and friend Tom Birge. The flashback ends with Will watching Bunk Stagner fall from the shot to his head and the trio fleeing the property before Stagner’s accomplices can shoot back.
