100 year old house

Here’s a synopsis based on your story: 100 Year Old HouseBy Auna-Lee Stevenson Ten-year-old Sarah has always been fascinated by the mysterious old house across the river. Her parents have forbidden her from going there without her older brother Hugo, but when Hugo finally agrees to accompany her, Sarah discovers something far more interesting than an abandoned house: an old diary hidden beneath a bed. The diary belongs to a girl named Marcinku Robertson and dates back more than a century. As Sarah reads it, she discovers secrets about Marcinku, her family, and a mysterious connection to Sarah’s classmate Clara Robertson. Determined to uncover the truth, Sarah asks Clara about her family’s past, only to discover that there is much more to the story than she expected. But Sarah’s search for answers is interrupted when war suddenly reaches her community. Her family is separated, her father goes missing, and people she loves are forced to make difficult choices. With danger surrounding them, Sarah must learn that family, courage, forgiveness, and hope can matter more than finding the answers she was originally searching for. As the war eventually comes to an end, Sarah’s father returns home with an astonishing surprise: the Robertson family has survived as well. Sarah finally learns the truth about the old house and the diary—and discovers that the mysterious story her family believed for generations was not what it seemed. With her family reunited, the war finally over, and new friendships beginning, Sarah realizes that sometimes the greatest mysteries are not found in an old house, but in the stories people carry with them.
