After the fall of human civilization, the war is carried on by combat units — androids built for battle, reconnaissance, and the clearing of contaminated zones. Their enemy is known to all. Qyvar: a hostile alien race whose machines seized vast stretches of Earth and turned the world into a battlefield without end. For eight centuries, what remains of the world has held together on nothing but military coalitions, orders, and endless operations. When a combined squad is formed from two coalitions for a new mission, everything begins like an ordinary military task. But abandoned complexes, strange signals, and discoveries buried in old ruins slowly make it clear that even after hundreds of years, this war has never been fully understood.
