Jack Miller wanted three quiet days in the mountains. Instead, he got a landslide, a rectangle of blue light, and a forest where his phone was dead, his backpack was gone, and Seattle was nowhere to be found. The people of Raven River know the land, their tools, and each other far better than Jack does. He may have modern knowledge, but that doesn’t make him the smartest person in the room. Hakan can outwork him with stone tools. Aiyana is learning English fast enough to argue with him. And Little Bear can start a fire when Jack can’t—which Jack considers deeply unfair. Then Jack hears two English words nobody here should know: Tomorrow man. Someone came before him. Jack still wants to get home. But finding the way back means crossing unfamiliar mountains, following clues left by a man who disappeared long ago, and learning how to live with people who are becoming much harder to leave behind. A character-driven time-displacement adventure about practical problem-solving, found family, and a vacation that has gone very badly off schedule.
