The Order of the Monolith is an ancient organisation whose principal function is to govern sorcerer society and foil the work of evil spirit, with sorcerers using aetherical energy to ward off these spirits. An internal schism within the Order's leadership over Druid V. Douglas Savery's secret investigations into council members regarding the purity of aether sends leadership into affray. Sorcery society is growing increasingly complex and threatening to the Order's survival. Moreso, Savery introduces a child born of darkness back into the Order in attempt to thwart any opponents. For context, the foremost chapter is a historical characters experience regarding the true nature of aether and the origins of the Monolith.
