In the year 155 AD, the Han Dynasty—the longest‑lasting empire in Chinese history—begins its slow, agonizing collapse. Corrupt eunuchs manipulate the child emperors, provincial warlords carve out private fiefdoms, and the Yellow Turban Rebellion sweeps the land like a plague. Out of this maelstrom rises Cao Cao, a brilliant, ruthless strategist of humble origins, whose cunning and ambition will reshape the realm. Yet he is not the only one with a vision for China’s future: the benevolent Liu Bei, who swears brotherhood with two legendary warriors, and the young Sun Quan, heir to the river kingdoms of the south, each dream of uniting the war‑torn country under their own banner.
