A second chance at life, this time with magic! I died. So that kind of sucked. After that, I became a wandering spirit, but only for a little while. My luck turned right around, and I found an amazing new body that had just lost its original spirit. Better still, my new body is tall, handsome, rich, and magically powerful. Yeah, that’s right. I found out that magic is real. There’s a whole parallel world connected to ours that’s just full of it. Oh, and lycanthropes, vampires, goblins, ogres… all that stuff is real. So that’s really cool. The only downside is that the former owner of my body was complete trash. He spent his first year in magic college partying to the point he was in danger of flunking out. Plus, he had a girlfriend he cheated on constantly with multiple different women. And the thing is, I can’t tell anybody I’m not him, or I could get thrown out of my new body. But if I can catch up on all the class work that the old me missed, learn enough about my old life to fool everyone, avoid ex-lovers, and survive the perils of this new magical world, I’ve got a wonderful and exciting life ahead of me. What to expect… - An original modern urban fantasy setting with characters that include mages, lycanthropes, vampires, fae, and more. Note: This story is set in the same world as my other story, The Changeling Cycle, but with all new characters and a completely independent story. - A story told from the first person perspective of the main character. - College life. - Physical and magical combat, mixed with some slice of life, and discovery of the hidden magic in the world. - A slow-building romance where the main character has more than one potential love interest, but pursues only one. - Mature themes that include toxic friends, infidelity, alcohol abuse, mental illness, vampire trafficking, and dysfunctional family dynamics. - People doing bad things and freely making poor life choices. Other people doing desperate things to survive. But there is also redemption for some, and a main character trying to do the right thing. - A complete story told in 89 chapters. The story is already written, and I hope to post about a chapter an hour until it is complete.
