Ethan Vale came to the Amazon looking for a missing expedition. He expected abandoned camps, unreliable maps and the usual dangers of the rainforest. He didn't expect a radio transmission from a dead frequency. He certainly didn't expect the voice on the other end to know his name. Then the river stopped flowing. By sunrise, there were footprints outside their station that belonged to someone who had never entered it. And among the belongings of a missing explorer, Ethan discovers a photograph taken nearly forty years ago. A photograph of his teammate Sofia as a child. Sofia has never been to the Amazon. At least, that's what she remembers. As the expedition ventures deeper into a rainforest that seems to change around them, Ethan begins to realize that the missing explorers weren't simply lost. They discovered something beneath the forest, something ancient enough to have its own memory. Something that has been waiting for them to return. And the deeper they go, the more Ethan begins to suspect a terrifying possibility: The forest doesn't want them dead. It wants them to remember.
