Kawaii・Kowai: Democracy at Kyousei Academy Overruled [Ensemble POV] [Vol. 1 Complete]

How do you manage a high school city-campus on a secluded island where more than fifty thousand students are living together? With a self-governing democracy, of course. Born from an ambitious government initiative to consolidate Japan’s declining youth demographic, Kyousei Academy relies on a unique mandatory voting system to operate at this scale. Here, the student administration executes weekly majority votes to determine resource allocation and dictate district laws. Campus clubs operate as political factions, where groups like the well-connected Theater Club and the tactical Bankers Club leverage their voting blocs to secure funding and counter rivals. This mystery-filled world unfolds through a satirical lens, shifting perspectives across groups. Among them is Jiro, an idealistic first-year who joins the Order Preservation Bureau and discovers the system’s compromises firsthand. Elsewhere is Sayoko, a pragmatic peer who treats systemic loopholes as personal opportunities and maneuvers higher up the hierarchy. As faction rivalries escalate, the democratic process is weaponized into an ideological war that tests the academy’s stability to its core. In an environment where the majority dictates reality, individuals must confront what it means to be righteous when even the best intentions come with a steep cost. Written by Limited_Infinity.
