Hexor ask, while watching the tragedy happening in front of him, "All of this is for God?" Something answers him from the wreckage of it — no name, no face, nothing the temple has ever prayed to. An unknown power that doesn't offer comfort. It offers white lightning, torn straight out of the very light she died beneath, and a promise wrapped in that theft: he will never be an offering again, because nothing will be strong enough to make him one. The God of Creation built a world with a place for everything. Now Hexor is the flaw it never planned for.
