Fate has always been an inexplicable force, yet no one doubts its existence. It can lead someone toward fame and glory—or drag them into the depths of despair. Fate gives everyone a road. Whether they follow it or change course is up to them. Cassian Atlas has spent his life in the shadow of his legendary parents, waiting for the day he can finally awaken an ability of his own. At Hope Academy, that day comes. Cassian awakens Precognition, an EX-rank ability that lets him witness the final moments before his own death. But he doesn’t simply see them. He feels them. Every wound. Every breath. Every second of fear and pain hits him as if he were truly there, forcing him to live through deaths that have not happened yet. When the vision ends, Cassian is left with one chance: trace the chain of events that led to that future and change it before it becomes real. In a world of Ascendants and demons, that power should make him invaluable. Instead, it may destroy him. To rewrite Fate, Cassian will have to become strong enough to survive the futures he sees—and decide how much of himself he is willing to sacrifice to change them. He can become the world’s savior... or its ultimate observer.
