Something dark is stirring at the heart of the British Empire. When three Members of Parliament vanish without a trace, Queen Victoria is forced to initiate a desperate investigation. Recruiting an unlikely duo - the street-wise Charles Dickens and the analytical Florence Nightingale, they soon discover more is afoot than a simple abduction. To uncover the truth, the trio must cross the boundary between the majestic London by Day and the sinister, supernatural underworld of London by Dark. Where the shadows twist, the vampires stir and the werewolves howl, a plot far more ancient and dangerous then any of them could have imagined begins to take shape. From the damp slums of Whitechapel to the opulence of Westminster, a conspiracy threatens to shake the monarchy to its core and bring the mighty British Empire to its knees.
