The first story in the Arcana Terram series Humanity believed it had left the age of miracles behind. Then, two hundred mysterious spheres appeared across Earth. Nineteen-year-old Skyenne Bennette is one of two hundred humans taken from their world and thrown into Arcana—a beautiful, hostile land where monsters roam freely, ancient creatures hide in forgotten places, and the remnants of a once-advanced civilization struggle to survive. Humanity has been chosen for a purpose. Through mysterious devices known as Runes, the chosen can absorb the essence of defeated creatures, grow stronger, and acquire powers beyond anything possible on Earth. Their mission seems simple: become strong enough to defeat the being who brought Arcana to ruin. Failure, however, carries a price. If the chosen fall, Earth falls with them. For Skyenne, what begins as a desperate fight for survival will become something far greater. He will find companions worth protecting, uncover the buried history of Arcana, and discover that strength alone may not be enough to save a world. Because Arcana is not a game. And heroes are not guaranteed a happy ending.
