Two Roads The Engineer:Julian Mercer has an unusual fascination with machines, especially things other people have abandoned. After acquiring an old off-road vehicle, he discovers that repairing it may uncover more than he expected. His curiosity gradually leads him into increasingly unusual engineering projects and adventures. TRI-TRAVELS:Julian and three friends set out on an open-ended expedition, beginning by land and eventually moving into water and air. With off-road vehicles, boats, ships, helicopters and aircraft, their journey takes them from ordinary exploration toward places none of them expected to reach. The format: Both are parallel versions of Julian's life, shown side-by-side—two different stories, two different journeys, one underlying character.
