by Mr. Joshi
The greatest man in history gave away everything for the truth. His name was Aren Valed. Three hundred and twelve years later, Tarin Vale is only a poor boy from a forgotten valley whose sister is dying from a debt their father left behind. The only thing that might save her is the Contract Hall. In this world, nothing is gained without something being lost. A soldier may trade away his fear for strength. A healer may sacrifice his memories to cure the dying. The greater the power, the greater the price. Tarin enters the Hall prepared to pay. Then he asks the one question no one is supposed to ask. What happens if you refuse the price? Somewhere beneath the mountain, something answers. And it remembers the greatest man in history. What Remains is a dark progression fantasy about power, sacrifice, forgotten history, and the terrifying question of how much of yourself you can lose before you are no longer yourself.
