In a world where every person awakens an innate ability and follows a path of cultivation, Lin Jing receives an unimpressive Grade D — Understanding. He has no great ambition. He wants only a peaceful life with his family, helping his father's struggling merchant business and his mother's herbal practice in their quiet village. But Lin Jing has always asked one question: Why? Why do cultivation techniques work? Why do abilities evolve? Why are certain abilities inherited? And why does the world accept so many things without questioning them? What begins as a quiet village life slowly becomes a journey through commerce, martial arts, the Jianghu, sects, kingdoms and ancient mysteries. Lin Jing doesn't seek to become the strongest. He simply wants to understand. And perhaps, in a world built upon secrets, understanding may be the greatest power of all.
